The Girls and I were at boutique the other day and saw some Tutu's for sale. Well, they were SUPER cute, but also super expensive considering they are made of elastic and tulle. Maybe I would have found them affordable if I only had one little girl, but I have TWO and they do NOT share! So I told them Mommy would make them some. Now, I know many friends who have made them, but I have NEVER. But I figured it couldn't be that hard considering, again, that they are mainly elastic and tulle. So I took a gander at how the ones at the boutique were made and then we busted on over to our local Wal-Mart. Probably one of the last that has a fabric department. I was shocked to find out how cheap elastic and tulle REALLY is. CRAZY...like 97 cents a yard. Anywho, I bought everything I needed for 2 tutu's (plus some things I didn't need, I mean it is Wal-Mart) and spent about 1/4 of what they cost at the boutique...for ONE! I was PUMPED, now I just needed to successfully put it all together.
Well, after much frustration in cutting tulle I found it to be rather easy. Seriously, that tulle is a pain in the butt! The stuff sticks together like crazy. Anyway, I got done with both tutu's, not with out a meltdown from a certain 2 year old before I made her's. She literally was beside herself while Nora was wearing (and of course flaunting) her tutu!
Nora actually had a little princess fairy dance camp today so she got to wear her tutu! Who knew $15 of tulle and elastic could make little girls so happy?!?! :)
Nora before her dance camp... SO excited to wear her tutu AND go to Dance camp!!!
Close up!!

Audrey's tutu. I didn't dare put in on her to take pics. I've learn the hard way that she is NOT very cooperative whilst taking pictures! ;)
Had to get a close up on her's too. Ya know...everything has to be even!
