Summer, Summer, Summer TIME

We'll the weather has finally started to warm up around here. I swear, it seemed like every time it started to get warm some rain would come through and ruin it. Now it's warm and we are shedding our clothes...so to speak. Twice this week the girls and I have put on the bathing suits and enjoyed some fun in the SUN! And when I say girls and I, I mean the girls...not so sure Audrey got a lot out of it but she sure looked cute. I'll have to take pictures of her next time. These are all of Nora and her friends. Sorry, I am still getting used to having 2 children to take pictures of!!!!

The first couple pictures are of Nora and her friend Callie in our backyard. And then we had a play date at a friends neighborhood pool. It's been a fun and busy week around here. Mommy likes it when we stay busy! ;)

Nora and Callie warming up to the water
Just Nora! Oh! And the cutest swimsuit ever!!
Nora in motion
Too bad she doesn't really know how to work the squirt gun. But it didn't stop her from trying!
Nora and her friend Samuel. They play great together. His mom and I joke that they would be perfect for each other if only Samuel wasn't going to be so short and Nora so tall. :) OH! and take a gander at my sexy white legs...It's just a tease, huh?!!

Eat Your Heart Out Martha

I started to work on some project while my mom was here and I must say...I am good!!! I decided that I wanted to learn how to sew. I took a sewing class about 3 years ago but without a sewing machine it didn't do much good. So I finally bought a sewing machine and My Mom taught me to sew while she was here. We started with an easy pattern. I made the two dresses and bloomers below. The bloomers were the hardest part. I don't think I will make them EVER again! But the dresses were pretty easy. I think I did a good job for a beginner, don't you? Can't wait for Audrey to grow a little so she can fit into hers. As soon as she can I will have the girls wear them and take a picture for the blog!

I also made some name letters for Audrey's nursery. I didn't expect them to turn out a cute as they are. But, I guess I'm just that good! ;) So eat your heart out Martha...I'm gaining up on ya!

Just in time for Mother's Day

So it's actually the evening of a wonderful Mother's day, in which I could pawn the kids and housework off on my hubby and not feel guilty about it! ;) I wanted to share a talk that was given by one of the Twelve Apostles of our Church. It is about how valued and cherished we are as daughters of God; and how our roles as mothers is the greatest and hardest role. I love reading it b/c it serves as a quick pick me up when I am feeling like the WORST mom on Earth!!! So I read it and then think..." That's right, I have a hard job and no role is more essential!" It empowers me a little. :) Member of my church or not, I think you will enjoy this article. It will remind you why you wanted to be a mother and of the simple pleasures of being a Mom. Enjoy! Audrey's Blessing

We had Audrey's Blessing last Sunday and it was a wonderful day! It was a weekend full of family fun and festivities! My parents and sister came into town on Thursday and then some of Wade's family came into town on Saturday. We had a big Family dinner that night and just enjoyed each other's company.
We started of Sunday morning with a breakfast perfect for a special occasion, apple pancakes...of course!! Then off to Church to have Audrey blessed by her Father. it was a wonderful blessing. My favorite part was when Wade blessed her that she might have "wit". of course a Schafer woman should have whit, that's what makes us so marvelous! When Nora was blessed one of the things Wade blessed her with was an "analytical mind". A friend of mine later mentioned that Wade blessed Nora to be a geek, it was actually a bit funny. In the long run I think Nora is going to be a smart "analytical" socialite! ;)
After Church I had a little soiree to celebrate. A lot of our friends showed up and met my family and we had some yummy food. We had a really good turn out and I felt full of gratitude to have a wonderful family and realized that I have truly made some wonderful friends here. I may be a dork, but when I entertain I love to take pictures of the food/table, as you will see!!! ;)

Nora the Clown!

This is what happens when you have two children!! Nora always gets into my purse, but since Audrey was born I can't keep my eye on her like I used to. Well, needless to say, I turned my head a little bit too long as she found my lipgloss and spread it all over her mouth. She even ate it! I can't blame her for eating it because it does have a yummy caramel taste! ;) Anyway, I just had to laugh and it made for some cute pictures!!!!
