KC or Bust

Last week the girls and I went to Kansas City, MO to see a good friend of ours from the Montgomery days! I had hoped I could make the drive of 3 and a half hours but, of course, Audrey got hungry. So I pulled of the next exit and headed for a Sconic. I pulled into the very last parking spot so I could feed her and Nora could run around. i just knew it was going to be huge pain, but would could I do?? Just when I was about to get Audrey out of the car, a bunch of cars pull up at the same time right next to us. The next thing I know a bunch of girls rally around the car that was right next to me. "There goes my privacy", I what I thought...but, my little socialite, Nora, went right up to them and made best friends instantly. They were 3 of the nicest girls. They played with Nora and entertained her while I nursed Audrey and they even bought Nora and I drinks. Seriously, they made my night!!! I was really anxious about having to pull over in the middle of nowhere, but they made it a whole lot easier and friendlier! Below is a picture of Nora with her 3 new best friends!

Once we got to KC we had a blast. Nora pee'd and yes, even pooped all over my friends house the first day, but pull ups came to the rescue. I know, what a rude house guest am I. She handled it wonderfully, but I was humiliated!! ;) Anyway, one day we went to "The Plaza" which is an absolutely fabulous outside mall full of fountains, great shopping, and wonderful restaurants with patios! I love eating on a patio!! Anywho, I loved seeing my friend Heidi, she is a hoot and it was great to have adult conversation all day long. And our kids play well with each other. I would be lying if I didn't admit my kids totally stressed me out, but in the end i am so glad we went. Here are a couple more pics!

Fathers Day Fun

For fathers day the The girls and I brought Wade a breakfast of french toast in bed. We went to church, and then had a yummy shish ka bobs (sp?) dinner. Then we surprised Wade with a blender. I know sounds lame, but if you knew how much my husband LOVES shakes you would understand why this was a great gift. Our blender broke sometime ago so know we could finally make shakes at home. His fav is strawberry, so I also bought some fresh strawberries and of course whip cream!!

The girls gave their dad one of the cards that records a message and plays a song. Here is a video of Wade playing the card with Nora. I hope you can hear the recording, it is so cute!!

The flood!

Disclaimer: A couple Saturday's ago My sweet husband gave me the day off. So I had things lined up to do all day that did not include kiddies. I of course had to come home every couple hours to nurse Audrey. So to agree with Wade, Nora could have turned on the sink on during any of the times I was home! ;)

Anyway, at some point throughout the day Nora goes into our master bathroom and turns the sink on. That would have been ok other than a higher than usual water bill. BUT, she also had to turn the faucet to the side so she would reach the water. she is obsessed with the water lately!! Soooooo, now the water is falling onto the counter rather than the sink. We are unsure how long the water was in fact running!! When Wade finally went back there our whole bathroom carpet and about 1/4 of our bedroom was soaked!!! IT was bad! We eventually had to pull up the carpet in the bathroom and replace the carpet padding in the bedroom. Then we had to get the carpet professionally cleaned to get the mildew out. We were planning on pulling up the carpet in the bathroom anyway and putting in tile, so that was ok. But it would have been nice to do it on our timeline rather than Nora's.

The funniest part of it all, which made it hard to be angry with Nora, is how Wade found her. When he finally walked back to the bathroom he saw Nora on the ground patting the carpet with a small baby washcloth. She was noticeably in a bit of a panic. I can't even say that (or type) without laughing. Poor little girl...did she really think she was going to be able to soak it all up with the tiny washcloth! ;) I wish I would have been there to take a picture of her. Oh well!

Lovin' ME some NKOTB

Is there anyone else out there that is so excited about the NKOTB reunion??? I told wade that I want to go to one of their concerts and he said,"Are you like 15 or something?"!! Hello, that is why their comeback is doing so good b/c every 30 something woman/mommy out there totally wants to reminiscence to their tween days with NKOTB poster clad bedrooms, Joey T-shirts( or whomever was your favorite), buttons and all! I am not ashamed to be all about NKOTB right now!

Here's their newest video "Summertime"! I love seeing them all in suits acting so cool!! I wonder what their wives think of the scantily clad summertime hotties all up on them?? Probably not too much since they are bringing in a big payday!! ;) Just teasing!!

Well, enjoy the video...Nora and I enjoy dancing to it! Post a comment if you're lovin' them too!

Cute Video

I had to share this video for 2 reasons. It shows Audrey as she is being more alert. But, you can also hear Nora talking in the background. There are still times that I have no idea what she is saying but there are other times that she has the whole English language thang down!!

They're Starting to Get Along

Thought I would post some recent pictures of Audrey and Nora. Audrey is getting used to Nora and is starting to actually smile and act interested in her rather than terrorized! Nora just can't wait for Audrey to be able to interact and play with her. In the meantime Audrey will just have to develop tough skin!!

Nora has the best intentions. She wants to share with Audrey all the time. For example, Nora has been getting treats when she goes to the potty. So the other day Nora gave Audrey one of her Jelly beans. I didn't realize this until I saw red drool on my white shirt. Then tonight Nora got a Hershey's miniature candy bar. She broke it in half and tried to give it to me while I was putting sheets on her bed ( yes potty accident during nap time). Meanwhile in the other room Audrey is throwing the biggest fit. Suddenly Audrey has gotten quiet. I assumed Wade picked her up, but he was outside. When I go into the living room Audrey has chocolate all over her face and is literally trying to lick her lips. I mean, you can't even get mad at Nora for that. She just wanted to share with her sister. ;)

Pretty Panties Not So Pretty Days!

Nora has been potty training the past 2 weeks. She started out the first week like she was a child potty prodigy. After 1 day she was peeing in her potty and never once went poopy in her pants...straight to the potty. She didn't even tell me she just went. Well, we recently took away her little potty and put a little seat on the BIG potty for her to go on. That was Sunday!! For 3 days she pooped in her pants. Wednesday she didn't go at all and kept putting her hand over her bottom as if she could hold it in! It's really quite funny!! This morning she finally went poopy in the big potty. It was going to be a great day. Nora's finally has it all down pat!!! We have even been running errands with no accidents!

Then today happened. Yes it started out good! Then, she went peepee in her pants at the Gym. Then right in front of the potty when we got home...TWICE. Pooped right on the floor (she had no panties on) but, I like to think that she was running to the potty. Then she went pee pee again in her panties right in front of me This is how I felt....

Seriously, I got so mad I couldn't see straight. This afternoon has been like we haven't even potty trained at all What is up with THAT?!!! I finally calmed down took her to her room and hugged her and kissed her and told her," we will get better at it, It will be ok"! If I only believed that. I feel like the past two weeks have been a waste. I can't believe she did this today. Do kids normally have huge set backs like this. Everyone says you can't get emotional about potty training and that makes sense... before you potty train!!!
Just thought I would vent and get it out of my system before she wakes up from her Nap! ;)

Devils Den

No, Devil's Den is not our household nickname, it's the name of the state park where we went camping over Memorial Day weekend. The weather is still really nice here in NW Arkansas which is shocking considering I am used to LA (lower Alabama) weather. There were moments that I was really hot and had to complain, but overall we had a really good time.
We just realxed and made friends with out camping neighbors. Their kids loved holding Audrey and playing with Nora which gave Wade and I a nice break! Devil's Den has a really nice pool, playground, and dam you could walk across. We had tons of stuff to do We wanted to paddle boat but it rained on us the day we were gonna do it. I am glad we went but I think our next camping trip will be in the fall when it cools off a little.
