Nora and the Ferocious Beast

Northwest Arkansas doesn't have a Zoo but they have the next best thing...A drive through Safari!!!! It began as a small farm in the 1960's and has now grown to over 160 acres of domestic and exotic animals. It was really more fun than I expected. They had all kinds of animals like buffalo, rhino's, camels, even lions, giraffes, and zebra's.

First, we went through the drive through part where most animals ran free. Then, we went to the petting zoo. That was were we got the cutest pictures, of course. The funniest part of the trip were the ostrich's on the drive through part. They would run right up to our car and even peck at our window. They were just as curious about us as we were about them.

It was a little chili, but a great way to spend our Saturday afternoon and kick off Easter weekend with our Family!!!

There's the funny Ostrich checking us out!

These are the curious camels. They would have stuck their heads all the way in our car if our windows had been open. Yikes!

Nora loved feeding the bunnies!

She was a little uncertain about the monkey; but if it was ok for mommy, it was ok for her!!

She was feeding the zebra but kept putting the food just barely out of his reach. Nice to see she got a little bit of her mother's mean streak. ;)

This is a video of Wade and Nora feeding the small goats (what ever they are called) at the petting zoo. She was a typical little girl at first, squealing everytime one of them moved. She eventually warmed up to them and started to pet and feed them!!
